Two students from Richard Huish College enjoyed the opportunity to get involved with the Somerset Remembers project last week.
Genevieve is currently studying for a History ‘A’ Level, and Megan has a self-confessed ‘love of old things’.
During the two hour session Project Archivist Liz and Project Officer Freya helped Genevieve and Megan to research archival material for the project, which will contribute towards the exhibition and the online community archive. The pair also had a tour of the strongrooms at Somerset Heritage Centre.
Both girls were keen to continue their research for the project at the Heritage Centre and at home, by transcribing digitised documents.
Local students are just one of the many types of volunteer currently carrying out research for the project.
