Sergeant J.W.Coxon D.C.M.

This week another illustration with an interesting story has entered our collections. 

The image below is of Sergeant J.W.Coxon, of the 8th Battalion Somerset Light Infantry. He took part in a raid on German trenches on 15th December 1915 and survived an attack by three Germans.

Sergeant Coxon was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for conspicuous gallantry as reported in the London Gazette.
